Net cash return

We will purchase outright all usable assets, setting that value off against the cost of our services. This can, and often does, result in a net cash return to clients at the completion of their PC refresh process.

Redeployment

Alternatively, usable assets may be held by us for redeployment to other client sites or kept available to support out-of- warranty assets that are still in use.

Secure Storage

New ICT assets can be delivered to Interlink prior to configuration and deployment. Deliveries will be reconciled against client purchase orders, and all asset details captured and reported. These details can also be loaded directly into the client’s Asset Register or CMDB system.

Configuration

For many ICT asset refresh projects, configuring assets prior to deployment leads to a number of benefits – less time on site, better management of DOA and confidence that the devices that are shipped to the site have been properly configured and tested prior to being sent.

Configuration of end-user devices may include asset tagging, loading of SOE, and even loading of user-specific applications. Network, server, and storage devices can be racked, integrated, and configured, saving valuable time on site.

Interlink will securely pick, pack and dispatch assets in accordance with the client refresh or installation schedule.
Our network of specialist, sensitive freight contractors will deliver the assets safely and securely, ready for just-in-time installation.

Our installers will connect end-user devices to power, network and peripherals and can manage user-data migration and the like if required.

Collection

Returning assets is easy. We liaise with your local site contacts to confirm the details of decommissioned assets to be collected, check if there are any site or access restrictions, and finally schedule the collection. Assets may be collected boxed or unboxed.

Freight

Assets will be transported to the nearest capital city for processing at an Interlink or partner facility, Australia-wide. Our sensitive freight network extends from national freight companies to local carriers. We choose the right freight solution to minimise costs, every time.

For national projects we will process your assets in multiple states concurrently, further minimising costs and compressing project timeframes.

Receipt and Registration

On receipt at our facility assets will be checked into our asset tracking/warehouse system. Each delivery is uniquely identified, and each asset allocated a unique Interlink barcoded asset number to facilitate tracking throughout the entire process.

Data Sanitisation

We securely wipe the hard drives of all PC’s, notebooks and servers, using a number of industry leading Data Sanitisation applications. In certain cases the hard drives may be degaussed or physically destroyed.

We also wipe the configurations of decommissioned network devices using Cisco certified engineers.

Interlink provides Certificates of Data Sanitisation for all hard drives, including references the asset serial number and the hard drive serial number.

Testing

All assets are tested on receipt, unless they are clearly unusable or of no value. We check whether all the parts and accessories are included – notebook power adaptors, for example – we test operability and grade the physical condition of the assets. Assets are broadly classified as usable or unusable.

Value Recovery

Usable assets will be remarketed or stored for future redeployment.

Environmental disposal

All assets deemed to be unusable in their present form are dismantled with their components separated to be processed by our materials recycling partners. Interlink’s environmental disposal processes comply with ISO 14001 standards.
